A thirty-four unit sheltered housing scheme situated in the very centre of the historic town of Ludlow and in close proximity to St Laurence’s Church and other important historic buildings.

It was recognised that the new building should relate closely to the scale and grain of the buildings now occupying the burgage plots on to Church Street. The new-build scheme consisted of a large E-shaped series of terraces, in turn connected to Quality Square by a series of passageways and small courtyards. There is also a three-storey building accommodating ground-floor shops with flats above. The existing cottage hospital was repaired and remodelled with a carefully designed extension to the rear.
