Arrol and Snell has achieved a good working relationship with the private owners of Combermere Abbey since their first appointment at the Abbey in 1985. Works throughout the years to the A former Abbot’s Hall and lodging have included repairs to its spectacular Great Hall, that was in fully restored from its prior poor condition, along with extensive repairs to the medieval framing and roof, the reinstatement of the early nineteenth-century plastered facade and the repositioning of pinnacles and battlements. Arrol and Snell also oversaw the full repair of the north end of the Abbey.
The Estate includes a number of buildings supporting the Abbey itself and Arrol and Snell has worked with its clients over the years to ensure that they are repaired and restored, as well as given a new use that ensures an extended and commercially viable life for the Abbey. In the illustrated case, a very large eighteenth-century stableblock was converted into holiday let accommodation and conference centre use.
